रूपकुंड ---------------- आइये ले चलते है आपको उत्तराखंड के एक और देवीय और प्रयटक स्थल पर जिसका नाम है रूपकुंड। चमोली जिले के सीमांत देवाल विकासखंड में समुद्रतल से 16499 फीट की ऊंचाई पर स्थित प्रसिद्ध नंदादेवी राजजात मार्ग पर नंदाघुंघटी और त्रिशूली जैसे विशाल हिम शिखरों की छांव में स्थित है मनोरम रूपकुंड झील। पौराणिक मान्यता के अनुसार अनुपम सुंदरी हिमालय (हिमवंत) पुत्री देवी नंदा (पार्वती) जब शिव के साथ रोती-बिलखती कैलास जा रही थीं, तब मार्ग में एक स्थान पर उन्हें प्यास लगी। नंदा के सूखे होंठ देख शिवजी ने चारों ओर नजरें दौड़ाईं, लेकिन कहीं भी पानी नहीं था। तब शिवजी ने अपना त्रिशूल धरती पर मारा, जिससे वहां पानी का धारा फूट पड़ी। नंदा जब प्यास बुझा रही थीं, तब उन्हें पानी में एक रूपवती स्त्री का प्रतिबिंब नजर आया, जो शिव के साथ एकाकार था। नंदा को चौंकते देख शिव उनके अंतर्मन के द्वंद्व को समझ गए और बोले, यह तुम्हारा ही रूप है। तब से ही यह कुंड रूपकुंड, शिव अर्धनारीश्वर और यहां के पर्वत त्रिशूल व नंदाघुंघटी कहलाए। जबकि, यहां से निकलने वाली जलधारा का नाम नंदाकिनी पड़ा। अब हमारा

Panch-Kedar refers to five holy places of the Shaivites dedicated to Lord Shiva. They are located in the Garhwal Himalayan region in Uttarakhand, India. Panch Kedar is one the most difficult pilgrimage tour in India, as all the Kedars are reached by trekking, with few lodges and eating places. The five Kedar lies in the valleys between the rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda.
